Home Sweet Home!

After 2 long weeks, I'm finally back home again! Hmmm, it seems like I keep having holidays, but somehow I have this feeling that it has been a long time since I came home LOL.

Having mid-semester break now. First few days busy with biotech project as well as my Japan and Singapore project. Proposal got rejected T.T Anyway, hopefully everything goes well. CAs coming REAL SOON!

Slumdog Millionaire

Watched the movie with Choon Pei, Jian Wei, Jia Wei, and Shu Fang today. Quite a nice movie, it actually tells us a lot about the reality of life, and how people go to large extents to achieve something.

Particularly I'm touched at how Salim sacrificed himself for the happiness of his brother Jamal... Wonder whether I'll be able to do that for my brother lol...

Anyway, someone commented that my blog is becoming more and more lamenting. Well, I'm not exactly lamenting, more like I'm trying to stop and look at the world in the midst of all the projects and mugging to be done. Things like this teach us to appreciate our surroundings and people around us more.

Overall, the movie is a must watch if you like educational movies :P (minus off the romance part though)

Funeral

It appears that someone passed away recently, hence the funeral below my block.

Sometimes I wonder why do people have funeral, and I came up with the following reasons:

1. Give tribute to the deceased, who left memories to those who he/she left behind.
2. Give relatives/friends a last chance to see the deceased.
3. Will be branded unfilial if do not do so (I think those that do this are just hypocrites...).

Well, can't think of any more for now. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying that we should not do so. Memories are beautiful, even if they contain those sad times. What I'm driving at is we should cherish our loved ones when they're around, not when they're not.

1 thing that I noticed when I went to buy my dinner just now, they do dinner catering for their funerals..... Maybe it's a whole package. Well, who knows....

Manual Labour

It has been a loooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg time since I did any manual work. Well, it kinda make me think about the good old days in council, and my fellow councilors :) You all know who you are :P I know it's kinda late now, but let me say this. Thank you to each and everyone of you who left me such good memories, be it arranging chairs, clearing classroom under 1 minute, DOTA sessions, Open House, banner painting, cheering for school team and everything else.

P.S. Good old days never remain, but good old friends are forever :)

10000 Visits!

Oh finally my blog reached 10k viewership =P

Super long never update le lol. Time for me to do something before mid-term break.

Went out with Choon Pei, Seng Han, and Alvin for steamboat buffet at Bugis last Saturday. It's supposed to be a friendship day :P Now that I remembered, we forgot to take picture.... Anyway, my wallet kinda bled before and after that...

Jia Wei joined us after the steamboat and we went to Bugis Junction to play the basketball game (dunno what it is called though). Seng Han and Jia Wei super zai la, me and Alvin cannot even catch up to their score...

Today's Japan and Singapore was like so fun! To think that a museum trip discussion can be so interesting and illuminating... Now I know how countries manipulate their histories, and how nation building means that some of the history should be covered. I fully understand why some country try to glorify their past acts; so that their new generations won't live in shame of their own history. Well, we should be looking forward. We study about history to make sure we don't go down the exact same path of destruction, aren't we?
